The group is run by parent volunteers for all people with Down's syndrome,and their families/carers, who live in North Yorkshire.

We therefore have first hand experience of dealing with the issues as we learnt to cope and adapt to our own situations - and these issues can relate us much to dealing with the schools, your local GP and health services and support for you as a carer. Rights are important -both for you and your children but experience is an invaluable tool in overcoming the need or the temptation to use these in getting what you need - and so meeting with our group may just help reduce some of the frustrations and confusion as you move forward through access to our shared experience.

This includes of course people from all walks of life - so shared circumstances and experiences are more likely the larger the group - so you have an immediate chance to benefit and contribute the sooner you make contact with a local support group.
